Every truth has two sides. It can be heaven on earth for you, but it may be a complete nightmare for others.
Kostas is a private tour operator in Santorini. He and his wife also own an incredibly cute (and photogenic) hostel. It used to be a winery and they’ve redone it beautifully. Kostas has a deep, soothing, almost hypnotic voice – perfect for reading bedtime stories. In Greece, there’s a rigorous system of training for tour guides. Kostas said getting in is like winning the lottery – he had to train for two years and travel the country for six months. He's now in his 20th year of giving tours of the mainland and islands in English, German and Greek. He’s an expert in archaeology and clearly a scholar. Kostas quotes Heraclitus and T.S. Eliot in his wisdoms and knows firsthand that their words ring true. When he’s not hosting travelers in Greece, Kostas loves to travel the world himself. Right now, he and his wife are exploring Japan with their two little children. I admire how Kostas has built a life around his passions: traveling, photography, art, hiking, good food, good wine and good company.
